These terms explain what the checker can—and cannot—do.

Using the checker
By using Hold Up, you agree to use it lawfully and responsibly. Do not paste passwords, security codes, account numbers, Social Security numbers, or other sensitive information into the checker.
No professional advice
Hold Up does not provide legal, financial, investment, cybersecurity, or law-enforcement advice. Its responses are generated from a limited set of common scam warning patterns and may be incomplete, incorrect, or out of date.
No “all clear”
A low-concern result means the short check did not recognize a known red-flag phrase. It does not prove the sender, message, link, offer, or transaction is legitimate. Always verify important claims through contact information you find independently.
Urgent situations
If money, an account, or personal information may already be compromised, contact the relevant bank, card issuer, payment service, or official organization immediately. If you are in immediate danger, contact 911. Suspected fraud can be reported at ReportFraud.ftc.gov.
Third-party services
Links and references to government agencies, banks, payment services, or other organizations are provided for convenience. Well, Why Not? Ventures does not control or endorse third-party services and is not responsible for their content or availability.
Availability and changes
We may change, suspend, or discontinue Hold Up or update these terms at any time. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.
Optional feedback
If you submit feedback, you give Well, Why Not? Ventures permission to use it to evaluate and improve Hold Up. Do not include private or sensitive information in an optional note.
Responsibility and liability
You remain responsible for decisions you make after using Hold Up. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Well, Why Not? Ventures is not liable for losses or damages arising from use of—or reliance on—the checker.
