What Hold Up asks you to share
Nothing. The checker does not require an account, name, email address, phone number, or payment. Please remove names, phone numbers, passwords, account numbers, and other personal details before checking a message anyway.
Anonymous usage measurements
To understand whether Hold Up is reaching and helping people, we record page visits, use of the message checker or screenshot reader, the general device category, the referring website’s domain, the concern level shown, and the time of the event. A random browser identifier and a random session identifier help us estimate unique and returning visits. These identifiers are not tied to your name, email address, message, or screenshot. We do not use advertising trackers, and we do not sell this information.
What the hosting provider may process
Like most websites, our hosting provider may process basic technical information needed to deliver and secure the site, such as an IP address, browser type, device type, requested page, and time of access.
Links to other websites
Hold Up may point you to official resources such as the Federal Trade Commission or Securities and Exchange Commission. Their privacy practices apply after you leave this site.
Children
Hold Up is a general educational tool and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Optional feedback
If you choose to submit feedback, we save your yes-or-no rating, the concern level Audrey displayed, any optional note you write, and the time it was submitted. The suspicious message you checked is not included with that feedback. Please do not put names, phone numbers, account details, or other private information in your note.
How feedback is used
Feedback is used to understand whether Hold Up’s results are helpful and to improve the checker. We do not sell feedback or use it for advertising.
Changes to this notice
If the way Hold Up handles information changes, we will update this page and its effective date.
